Yes. I am milking the sick thing. And do you want to know why? Probably not. But, I'll tell you all. Because every time my husband is sick. EVERY. TIME. MY. HUSBAND. IS. SICK. The bedroom door is closed and he holds up in there for a 2-3 hour nap and then surfaces to shuffle around before he makes it to either the couch or the bed. Whichever has sportscenter. Which is the couch. So, yes I feel bad. Not so bad that I can't function. But, he doesn't know that.
I actually took to the bedroom this morning around 10:00 and slept until 10:40. I threw in a few extra toss and turns last night and early this morning for more effect.
And I did not score a foot rub last night. He actually tried to steal some of my candy (sour patch kids). I told him in a very firm voice,
"BACK OFF!"
I may not have the sick thing down like he does, but I did get an extra 40 minutes in bed today. And I gave him ONE candy. I did bite half of it before I gave it to him. Sick doesn't mean less bitchy.

We have the same situation here... Doug gets sick, in bed for hours. I get sick I sleep in for 10 minutes and then someone is yelling for me - usually Doug :)
Take as many of those 40 minute sleep-ins you can get! Even my 4 yo has made an art of being a pitiful sick male!!

Milk it for all you can!! Men are wimpy when it comes to being sick - and if the kids aren't bleeding - stay in bed!
And I LOVE that you bit the head off the Sour Patch Kid first! That is totally something I would do!
Hope you are feeling better soon!! I too am a lone female in a sea (abyss?) of sick males. It must be in their genes and my hubby has been sick since before NEW YEARS. Ugh.

Don't you know that women aren't allowed to get sick? We are supposed to be SUPER WOMEN. Ha ha. If it makes you feel better, when we were little, my Mom was very sick and had 5 kids to take care of. She asked my Dad to take a vacation day to help her out. You wanna know what he said, "Other women do it, you can too" Ha ha. Still married after 32 years. Ha ha. I hope you get better soon.
