And in Other News (September addition)

The community college that I attend is promoting weight loss. Not so much in the form of free information sessions, pamphlets, or exercise regimens. No, they discreetly moved the vending machines from that nice little vending machine room right out to the hallway. So now everyone can see that you chose the snickers over the granola bar at 9:00 at night...Outed or not, in the words of Shakira, "The hips don't lie."

And in more news...
I don't know if any of ya'll have a myspace. Several of my family members do. With some of us being so far away from each other, this happens to somehow keep us connected.Anyway, tonight I got a friend request from "Sassyminks".

That don't sound like family...

Week of September 16

Today, I fell down outside. I was carrying one of the babies. It was Homer.

Everyone breathe. Homer is o.k.

But that can only be attributed to the fact that I strongly believe that had I been born a male, I would have rocked the football arena. I sacrificed my body for that child. And oddly enough, I think I heard fans cheering as I scrambled for footing (only to lose it) and then awkwardly landed with my Homer held high.

...........

Sebastian got to coach his first game tonight. They won! He was very excited and hoarse when he got home tonight. I can't wait until I am able to go and watch him and the players in action.

There is a place in my kitchen where our dishwasher used to be that is now empty.
Why? Because our nice new landlord told us on Thursday evening that they would be replacing the one that we had.

It worked. It just looked very sad and dilapidated.

First the black front that sordof gives you a mirror image of yourself fell off. The very next day, the cardboard underneath that black front also fell off. Two boxes (which I'm not sure what purpose they served) followed on days 3 and 4, and we pretty much had gotten used to the eye sore. But Saturday, they showed up with a new dishwasher!

The babies admired their reflections, I loaded it up and ran the cycle, and we headed out the door for a stroll to the park with the kiddos.

When we got home there was water all over my kitchen floor.

And long story short- now I have NO dishwasher. Or hot water. I am still trying to understand the second loss, but will hold off on that conversation with Mr. Landlord until after my class this evening...
