Weekly Sunday Posts for May '07

May 6, 2007
We started the week off celebrating Grandpa's birthday at ChuckECheese. Everyone enjoyed themselves and Amelia, Lincoln, and Sebi managed to find a way to get themselves on the bigscreen t.v.! I have a busy week. I take my last exam in Anatomy on Wednesday and my final on Friday. I caught Sebastian counting the days left in the semester this morning. He is looking forward to a much due break and only has two weeks to go! Sweet Gabriel has gotten three more spider bites! This initiated a call to the pest control and I hope it will take care of the situation. He has a follow up with the doctor coming up, so we will certainly have them looked at. The official tooth count for Homer is THREE. Two front and bottom right! He has become a little more independent over the past week and doesn't cry every time mommy walks in the room and doesn't pick him up :)

What a wonderful way to start a week! Mother's Day was an absolute perfect gift to me from my dear husband, Sebastian. I got to sleep in, was served breakfast in bed, and pretty much told to just rest - and I did!. We spent a good part of the afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa and had such a good time together. Sebi was so happy to go to Grandma's house (and so was Oso). Homer enjoyed visiting but since he has been more mobile, he finally conceded to a nap. Gabriel on the other hand, never wanting to miss out on a single thing (just like mama), stuck it out and refused to nap until the car-ride home. I don't know what I am going to do with myself this week with all the downtime- the school semester has ended and I will have an entire two and a half weeks to decompress. I'm sure I will find plenty that needs to be done, and right now I am just enjoying my family:)

This was a rough week, but it ended up turning out just fine. After having a conversation with my mother-in-law, I have decided that I need to have a more intimate relationship with God. I am looking forward to my spiritual journey and where it will lead me. Sebi graduated from his class at Mother's Day Out. It brought tears to my eyes to see him at the ceremony and it was just absolutely beautiful! Sebastian has four days remaining in the semester and then he will get to relax. Homer is the happiest baby!!! He wakes up from night sleep (and naps) chatting away and smiling upon my entrance. My pudge has officially mastered sitting and transitions from sitting to crawling via the "chinese split". Gabriel has decided to finally strengthen his little chicken legs. He is making more of an effort to stand and his favorite spot is on the back of the couch (so that he may peer through the blinds to look outside). With all that is going on and with all that I have, at this very moment I feel truly blessed :)

Sebastian has officially finished his first semester teaching. He is currently looking for a position for the fall and I am hopeful that he will find one soon. I will start the summer session this week. Those two weeks off seemed to fly right by, and although I didn't get to finish everything around the house that I had hoped to (i.e. laundry), I did get to spend more time with my family. Sebi had a wonderful Sunday because he got to go to Grandma's house. He impatiently (but more or less quietly) sat through the service until he noticed we were loading the babies in the stroller. He whispered to me, "Are we going to Grandma's house now?" I whispered back, "yes", at which point he raised both arms and yelled "YEAH, I'm gonna have FUUN!" Homer and Gabriel got to take lots of pictures with Grandpa which I know made him very happy. Since we managed to get all the kids to sleep at the Grandma's house, Roxana and I got to sneak away for a bit to a benefit concert at Threadgill's.
