"En Fuego"

O.k., so maybe we were spoiled with the late onset of the summer heat, but geez! I walked outside and practically had to stop, drop, and roll. I'm glad that I got my gardening "project" completed before these sweldering temperatures dropped (raised) on us. I'm assuming it can only get hotter from this point on, so here is looking forward to you October.

Anyway, if any of you have seen the house lately, the weeds had gotten out of control. I didn't think to take a before picture, and I'm riding the fence whether that was a good/bad idea. Regardless, here are a few pictures of my hard work. There really is nothing to be grown at this time of the year, so my aim was just to get rid of and (hopefully) prevent those darn weeds from taking over again :)
It started as an after-hours project...
I was hoping that circle would have been bigger, but I'll take what I can get

I know it doesn't seem like much but trust me, if you had seen what it looked like before you'd be just as excited as I am with the whole thing!

That, and I think the neighbors appreciated the fact that our place is no longer an "eye-sore"

:)

I still need to complete the border, which I will be purchasing slowly. Once it is all complete I'll post the "final" picture.

***by the way, if you live in Round Rock you can get free mulch. Of course, I found this out after the fact. I don't think they would have given away that pretty red mulch though, so I guess I'm o.k. with buying it on my own.***

Oh it looks great! Good luck keeping the weeds out. If you figure out how can you send me your trick? I was great seeing you today. I wish it was easier to get together...
